KAT GRANT BIO
Katherine Michelle Grant was born on October 27, 1979, the youngest of Steve and Tracey Turner and their only daughter. She grew up in a small town in Nebraska, not too different from Clark Kent's hometown of Smallville. Her mother died of cancer when she was six and her father was a "handy man", taking any carpentry or electrical job he could find.
As a child she would play with her brothers, things like basketball, baseball and soccer. She did, however, enjoy a few girly things, such as dressing up her Barbie dolls and making up stories about their lives. As she grew up, this grew into a fasination with fashion, and then the lives of celebrities. Since she couldn't draw or sew to save her life, she decided the place for her was writing about what she loved.
She got her job at The Daily Planet by sleeping with then editor Gabriel Grant. Later, when they married, Gabriel stepped down and was succeeded by Perry White. After just a few years of marriage, Kat became pregnant, but before she could give her husband the news she caught him in bed with a prostitute. She had an abortion not long after, never telling her husband about the baby. The two soon divorced, though she kept his last name because of the reputation she'd built with it.
Soon after she developed a drinking problem. She's been through rehab several times, but currently she has her drinking under control. She regrets having an abortion, often having sweet but sad "nightmares" about the son or daughter that could have been.
